Hosted by Diplomat Media and The Diplomat Business Networking Club (DBNC), the 14th Diplomat of the Year Awards brought together ambassadors, development leaders, government representatives, business executives and partners in Harare, Zimbabwe, in March 2026 to celebrate excellence in diplomacy and international cooperation. Held under the theme Diplomacy in Action, Impact in Motion, the awards recognised diplomats and organisations whose work continues to strengthen bilateral relations, advance development partnerships and foster greater understanding among nations.
One of the evening’s highlights was the recognition of the Canadian Ambassador as the 2026 Diplomat of the Year, an honour determined through the awards’ unique peer-driven selection process. As we revisit these moments, we also acknowledge the invaluable support of our partners who made the event possible. Stanbic Bank served as Lead Sponsor, while Providence Human Capital partnered as Associate Sponsor. Together with diplomats, development partners and business leaders, they helped create an occasion that celebrated not only diplomatic achievement, but also the enduring power of dialogue, partnership and citizen diplomacy in shaping a more connected world.
